Coachie holds information about teams, so we want to be plain about what we collect, why, and what control you have.

Who we are

Coachie (coachie.app) is a coaching platform for GAA teams, run from Ireland by its founder, Conor Mackle. You can reach us at conor@coachie.app.

For the squad information a club puts into Coachie (players, events, availability, sessions and so on), the club is the data controller and Coachie acts as its processor. For your own account and for people who join our waitlist, Coachie is the controller.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name and email address, and your sign-in credentials (passwords are handled by our platform provider and are not visible to us). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
  • Squad information entered by you or your coach: player name, jersey number, position, role, linked account, events, availability replies and reasons, announcements, session plans and session logs, match stats, video clips, comments, individual development plans and coach notes.
  • Notifications and activity inside the app, so we can show you what has changed and send reminders you would expect (for example an unanswered availability request).
  • Waitlist and contact details: name, email, role and organisation if you join the waitlist or get in touch, plus a record of the emails we send you.
  • Basic technical data such as device type and page views, collected through standard analytics provided by our platform. We do not use advertising trackers.

Health and wellbeing features

Coachie includes optional injury, physio, recovery and readiness features. Information about injuries, soreness, sleep or mood is health data, which the law treats as special category data.

These features are switched off for new clubs at launch. If they are ever switched on for your club, we will tell you before any health information is collected, explain how it is used and ask for your explicit consent. You can say no without losing access to the rest of the app.

Why we use it

  • To provide the app: sign you in, show your squad, events and sessions, and let coaches and players communicate (performance of our contract with you, or the club's legitimate interest in running its team).
  • To send service emails and in-app notifications, such as event invites, availability reminders and announcements.
  • To keep the service secure, fix problems and improve it.
  • To reply to enquiries and, if you joined the waitlist, to contact you about early access (you can ask us to stop at any time).

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We use a small number of service providers to run Coachie:

  • Base44, the platform that hosts the app, its database and sign-in. Data is stored on Base44 and its infrastructure providers, which may include servers outside the European Economic Area. Transfers rely on adequacy decisions, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses under Base44's data processing agreement.
  • Google, for sending email from our Coachie address, optional Google sign-in and optional Google Meet links.
  • Calendly, if you book a discovery call with us.
  • AI providers used through our platform, for optional features such as the Strategy Coach and stats extraction. Only the content you submit to those features is sent.

AI and our platform provider

Under our platform provider's current terms for our plan, it may use app data, including records created by users, to improve its AI services. We are working to change this for sensitive data, and we will update this page when we do. If you are concerned, please contact us before adding information you would not want used this way.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to, we remove your personal data from the live app within 30 days. Deleted records can be recoverable on our platform for up to 30 days, and may remain in backups until those backups cycle out.

Waitlist details are kept until you ask to be removed or the waitlist closes.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, and receive a copy in a portable format. Where consent is the basis for processing, you can withdraw it at any time.

If your data is in a club's squad, the club is the controller, so it is usually fastest to ask your coach first. You can also contact us at conor@coachie.app and we will help or pass your request on.

You can request deletion of your account inside the app (Profile, then Delete my account) or on our delete-your-account page.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie).

Age

Coachie is currently for adult squads. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18. If you think a young person's data has been added, please tell us and we will remove it.

Cookies and local storage

We use only what is needed to keep you signed in and remember simple preferences such as which menu sections you have open, plus standard analytics from our platform. We do not use advertising cookies.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and tell active users in the app or by email.
